Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a Pastry Sous Chef for a luxury private wildlife reserve in the Kalahari. This is a unique opportunity for a creative and detailoriented culinary professional to join an elite team dedicated to delivering worldclass hospitality in a remote and breathtaking environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Head Pastry Chef in the daytoday operations of the pastry kitchen
Prepare and present highquality pastries breads desserts and baked goods
Assist in menu development with a focus on creativity guest satisfaction and seasonal ingredients
Maintain impeccable hygiene and cleanliness standards in the pastry kitchen
Oversee stock control ingredient sourcing and kitchen organization
Ensure consistency quality and artistic presentation across all pastry offerings
Provide training and mentorship to junior kitchen staff as needed
Work collaboratively with the culinary team to deliver seamless and memorable dining experiences
Uphold sustainability practices and minimize waste wherever possible
Requirements:
Minimum 35 years of experience in a pastry kitchen preferably in a luxury lodge hotel or fine dining establishment
Formal culinary or pastry qualifications preferred
Strong knowledge of pastry techniques trends and presentation styles
Ability to thrive in a remote fastpaced and highstandard environment
Excellent attention to detail and creativity in plating and flavor profiles
Strong communication skills and a teamoriented mindset
Passion for the hospitality industry and commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences
Willingness to relocate and live onsite in a remote wilderness setting
