Adelphi is seeking a Certified Physical Therapist Assistant to assist in providing services to students in a school district in New York. The Certified Physical Therapist Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Physical Therapist in providing services to eligible special education students within the school district. The ideal candidate will have a current active Physical Therapist Assistant New York License.

Requirements:
Associate s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program
Current active New York State Board License as a Physical Therapist Assistant
Minimum of one year of experience in a school setting is preferred
Knowledge of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and compliance requirements
Responsibilities:
Assist the Physical Therapist in providing direct physical therapy services to children with disabilities (ages 321 in Early Childhood and K12 Special Education Programs as specified in the IEP
Implement physical therapy treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
Support students in improving mobility coordination strength and functional independence
Assist in conducting physical therapy evaluations by collecting data and documenting student progress
Maintain accurate records including Medicaid billing and required service documentation
Provide recommendations on adaptive equipment assistive technology and environmental modifications to support student mobility and participation
Collaborate with teachers parents and other school professionals to support student progress
Assist the Physical Therapist in offering training to teachers paraprofessionals and staff on positioning mobility techniques and other physical therapy strategies
Participate in diagnostic evaluations staff meetings and IEP development
Provide services in a variety of settings including classrooms therapy rooms and homebound environments as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist
Submit progress reports and other required documentation in a timely manner
Other duties as assigned by administration.
