Job Description
We are hiring a Data Engineer to join the Sales & Service value stream within the Data & Analytics team. This value stream delivers digital solutions and processes for marketing sales and service operations enabling exceptional customer and employee experiences.
Role Overview:
The role is focused initially on supporting legacy solutions facilitating their decommissioning as part of a transition to modern cloud technologies. Once this phase is complete the role will involve fullstack data engineering from source systems through to visualization using a modern Microsoft Azurebased Lakehouse platform designed using Medallion architecture. The platform supports a wide range of data applications including analytics realtime monitoring data science and machine learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the business to define analytics requirements
Design develop test and maintain scalable data solutions on Azure
Participate in decommissioning legacy systems and transitioning to new solutions
Implement robust data pipelines and integrate data from diverse source systems
Ensure that solutions are maintainable secure and aligned with business priorities
Work closely with team members during a critical transition phase especially during May which requires a higher onsite presence for knowledge transfer and workshops
Qualifications :
Key Skills
68 years of experience as a Data Engineer
Proven experience as a Cloud Data Engineer or BI Developer
Strong handson expertise in:
Azure Databricks
SQL Spark / Python Spark
Azure Data Factory
Azure DevOps
Other relevant Azure services
Deep understanding of Lakehouse architecture and Kimball modeling
Familiarity with BI/DWH development patterns and methods
Experience working in SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) environments
Passion for breaking down complex data challenges into simple scalable solutions
