Job Summary
Through the AmeriCorps Texas grant program Texas Southmost College TSC will have AmeriCorps members who will 1 increase communication about and access to campus resources and support and 2 increase engagement in campus activities and with academic support services at TSC in Brownsville Texas. At the end of the first program year the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for increasing TSC students who ewer served by the program falltospring persistence rate to 75 and falltofall persistence rate of 63.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Objective of the Assignment: Assist students who are inquiring about programs to increase communication about and access to campus resources and support Answer phone calls and emails from students who are inquiring about programs of study in degree pursuits. Participate in recruitment events job fairs and programs of study e.g. pipe fitting program or welding program. Assist in coordinating and implementing outreach efforts for student services. E.g. Welcome Week campus events conferences webinars etc. to disseminate knowledge of college procedures and policies to students. Measures of the Assignment: Number of students who receive personalized communication about registration or applications about WTCE programs and: Register for the program/classes (shortterm outcome) Complete the program (midterm outcome)
