Location
Job Description
Verifies insurance benefits. Initiates precertification process and
coordinates with parents to ensure authorizations are obtained.
Maintains communication with payers Patient Financial Services providers ancillary departments and other hospital services to ensure the
facilitation of the authorization precertification and appeal process.
Reviews all outpatient accounts identifying those accounts where
reauthorization is required. Notifies clinicians and families.
Accepts documents and files all authorizations and precertifications
received from providers families and payers.
Completes full registration process as needed.
Maintains knowledge of government managed care and commercial
insurance requirements by attending educational seminars as appropriate.
Manages denied Rehabilitative Services claims until they are resolved
including but not limited to recoding and appeal processes.
Compiles necessary clinical paperwork for submissions for requests for authorizations.
Other job functions as assigned.
Requirements:
1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or two or three years related experience and/or training.
2. Solid knowledge of Excel required (linking and creating formulas).
3. Performs other duties as assigned.
4. Math and accounting experience preferred.
5. Ability to enter or key high volumes of data rapidly and accurately required
6. Analytical skills in order to identify incorrect errors.
7. Bank reconciliation experience required.
8. Experience with electronic remittance advice software preferred.
9. EPIC experience a must.
10. Knowledge of physician billing work flow third party payer procedures governmental regulations and managed care contracting to effectively understand and to respond to inquiries on patient accounts.
11. Excellent customer service skills professional selfconfident dependable and a team player.

$19.50$30.23 HourlyAt Lurie Childrens we are committed to competitive and fair compensation aligned with market rates and internal equity reflecting individual contributions experience and expertise. The pay range for this job indicates minimum and maximum targets for the position. Ranges are regularly reviewed to stay aligned with market conditions.In addition to base salary Lurie Childrens offer a comprehensive rewards package that may include differentials for some hourly employees leadership incentivesfor select roles health and retirement benefits and wellbeing programs.
