Moran Assistant Superintendent of Human ResourcesRe: Budget DirectorQualificationsBachelors degree in finance or related field requiredThree years of experience with budgeting preferred Responsibilities Analyzes a variety of financial information (e.g. budget variances cost projections etc. for the purpose of providing direction and support making recommendations maximizing use of funds and/or ensuring overall operations are within budgetCollaborates with internal and external personnel for the purpose of implementing and/or maintaining services and programs and providing information and general supportCompiles data from a wide variety of sources (e.g. staff public agencies school etc. for the purpose of analyzing issues ensuring compliance with organization policies and procedures and/or monitoring program componentsConducts internal audits for the purpose of ensuring program operations are within budget and in accordance with fiscal practicesMaintains a variety of manual and electronic fiscal information files and records (e.g. accounts payable accounts receivable student activities contracts etc. for the purpose of providing an uptodate reference and audit trailParticipates as a member or facilitator in meetings workshops and seminars for the purpose of identifying issues developing recommendations providing training and conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functionsPerforms personnel functions (e.g. training scheduling interviewing evaluating supervising etc. for the purpose of maintaining adequate staffing enhancing productivity of personnel and achieving objectives within budgetPrepares a wide variety of materials and financial data (e.g. annual budgets financial statements budgetary reports for the school committee procedures etc. for the purpose of documenting activities and issues meeting compliance requirements and/or providing supporting materials for requested actionsPresents information (e.g. budget overviews accounting processes distribution formulas etc. for the purpose of communicating information gaining feedback and ensuring adherence to established internal controlsReconciles account balances for the purpose of maintaining accurate account balances and complying with established guidelines Researches financial topics and related legal issues for the purpose of evaluating compliance requirements and potential implications on district operationsResponds to a wide variety of inquiries of staff district personnel other professional organizations etc. (e.g. accounting guidelines expenditure status grant guidelines etc. for the purpose of resolving problems providing information and/or referring to appropriate personnelOther duties as assigned by the Chief Budget OfficerThis is a 12month nonunion position. Salary commensurate with experience.
