Job Description

Archbishop Carroll is looking for a dedicated and experienced Assistant Athletic Director for the upcoming school year. This is a fulltime position offering the opportunity to develop and lead our studentathletes both on and off the Mission: Archbishop Carroll High School is a Catholic collegepreparatory coeducational school in the heart of Washington DC. Job Summary:The Assistant Athletic Director is directly responsible to the Athletic Director. Together with the Athletic Director the Assistant Athletic Director assists with the development of the overall philosophy and goals of the entire athletic program at Archbishop Carroll High School and is jointly responsible for the administration of the entire athletic Duties and Responsibilities:Supervises the scheduling and use of all athletic facilities and coordinates the use of such facilities among Carroll stakeholders in conjunction with the Athletics Administrative Assistant. Assist in the formation development and coordination of coeducational athletic programs at Archbishop Carroll High School according to rules and regulations for the WCAC and DCSAA and implements the philosophy of athletics at Archbishop Carroll Establishes criteria for recognition and awards given to members of all athletic teamsIn conjunction with the coaches is responsible for the inventory distribution collection storage and repair of all equipmentResponsible for the overall operations of all home athletic eventsIn the absence of the Athletic Director assume responsibility for event management as the Assistant Athletic DirectorArranges transportation schedules of all athletic teams in coordination with the school calendar. Also works with other entities in the school to assist with the transportation needs. Assist with the creation of and weekly distribution of the Athletics newsletter. Assist with the management and services of school vehiclesMakes announcements for upcoming sports events via PA system or other audio equipmentIn the absence of the Athletic Director and Athletic Trainer responsible for the proper reporting of all athletic injuriesAttend all Athletic Meetings as in fundraising and program advancement in the evaluations of hiring new coaches and the evaluation of existing coachesResponsible for the overall academic success of all studentathletes including but not limited to academic monitoring and academic interventions Support the school administration in the admissions processSupporting athletic coaches and counselors with NCAA and NFHS information and other recruitingrelated documents for ACHS student athletesProvides incident reports from the Athletic Department when to work evenings some holidays and occasional weekendsAssist with administrative duties in the athletic department to include seasonal rosters quarterly data and other administrative requirements placed upon the athletic department. Knowledge and use of Blackbaud and DragonFly Software will be helpful. Additional athletic software (Hudl Team Snap etc) knowledge will be useful. Microsoft Suite knowledge is a plus as Bachelors degree in Physical Education or Athletic Administration or a related field.A minimum of three years in the Athletic field (preferred)Commitment to social justice and working with high school students Demonstrate a positive attitude while fostering productive relationships with the ACHS communityGood communication skillsCollaborative leadership style Sensitivity to working in a diverse multicultural environment Knowledge of the Catholic faith beliefs and practices Understanding and commitment to the educational mission of the Archdiocese of Washington and the vision of Archbishop Carroll High SchoolCompletion of background check fingerprinting and Virtus Online Training. you are passionate about coaching leadership and mentorship wed love to hear from you!
