Job Title: High School Sped 18 Facilitator
Sped Transition to the Future Facilitator
Wage/Hour Status: Exempt
Reports to: Building Principal
Pay Grade: Teacher Pay Scale
Dept. /School: Assigned Campus
Days: 187
The Transition to the Future Teacher will provide comprehensive and specialized instruction to students in the Transition to the Future Program ages 1822 that have developmental and physical disabilities.
Instruction will be provided across all environments including the classroom community building job site etc. The primary goal of the Transition to the Future Program Facilitator is to provide specialized instruction in an individualized program for students to have the best postsecondary opportunities.
Education/Certification:
Sped Certification
Generalist Certification
Bachelors degree from accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject/level assigned
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of subjects assigned
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of Special Education Law
Knowledge/Experience working with students with disabilities
Knowledge of TTESS Appraisal System
Experience:
Student teaching or approved internship preferred
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise assigned teacher aide(s)
Serve as mentor to student teachers
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Maintain emotional control under stress
Frequent standing stooping bending pulling and pushing
Move small stacks of textbooks media equipment desks and other equipment
Assist with lifting/transferring/toileting of students per IEP
