Job Description

About the Role

The role of the Senior Manager Lived and Living Experience (LLE) supported by the Executive Director Inclusion is to embed lived and living experience at all levels of the organisation. This includes Board and Executive decision making policy and strategy program and service design pathways to selfdeterminations for service users and clients as well as accessible and inclusive employment for staff.

This is a leadership role that leverages the personal experiences of individuals who have directly faced significant marginalisation adversity socioeconomic disadvantage and/or disability (lived experience) to influence policy practice and system change by advocating for the perspectives of those with lived experience

The role acts as a bridge between service users & clients and service providers as well as the organisation and employees to ensure their needs are integrated into decisionmaking processes.

Experience and Capabilities:

  • Experience in organisation development change management or strategic people and culture roles including leading major organisational and cultural change initiatives.
  • Lived and living experience of marginalisation adversity socioeconomic disadvantage or disability with demonstrated integration into professional setting
  • Extensive experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders to achieve organizational objectives within a community services setting.
  • Capable of building strong relationshipswith all stakeholders to promote and expand LLE initiatives.
  • Planning and development of programs staff training communication and supporting team supervision awareness raising research and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of intersectionality and how this applies to or impacts on lived experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the health and wellbeing of Berry Street Yoorallas diverse communities particularly LGBTIQA service users staff and volunteers and people with disabilities and multicultural multifaith and/or people of colour (POC).
  • Demonstrated ability to flexibly manage competing priorities and stressful situations monitoring own stress levels and practising and promoting selfcare strategies.
  • Empathy resilience and the ability tosupport othersin their life journeys.
  • Strongcommunication skillsand the ability tolistenresolve conflict and lead by example.
  • Selfawarereflective leaderwho continuously seeks improvement and adapts to new challenges.
  • The ability tomanage multiple tasks meet deadlines and work autonomously to achieve results.
  • Demonstrated ability to build partnerships with government and nongovernment human services providers with use of practical strategies to improve service delivery to service users and clients.
  • A tertiary qualification in project management social work psychology community services or related filed.

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • International Police check (if required)
  • Current Australian ID Proof
