Vertical Transportation & Lift System Operations Specialist
The University of Miami/UHealth department of Central Energy Plant (Facilities) has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Vertical Transportation & Lift System Operations Specialist to work at the UHealth Medical Campus. The Vertical Transportation & Lift System Operations Specialist administers leadership for various projects programs and assigned departments. More specifically the incumbent oversees maintenance mechanics contractors and other service personnel to ensure the highquality conditions of all assigned UHealth facilities and systems including satellites.
Core Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operations of vertical transportation systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Schedule and supervise routine maintenance inspections and repairs of elevators escalators and lifts.
Ensure all systems comply with local state and federal safety regulations and standards.
Diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure user safety.
Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance.
Department Specific Functions
Develop and manage 3rd party contracts with elevator maintenance providers to ensure repairs PMs and required inspections are completed.
Develop and manage vertical transportation inspection testing and maintenance program requirements and performance.
Stay up to date on local state and national elevator safety codes and regulations ensuring all maintenance activities adhere to these requirements.
Regularly assess elevator safety and compliance identifying and addressing any potential hazards or risks.
Document all maintenance activities inspections and repairs ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and facilitating future analysis.
Provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders on elevator maintenance activities performance and budget status.
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure compliance with contract terms service level agreements (SLAs) and response times.
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to entrapments and callbacks per month to ensure preventive maintenance is properly performed.
Address any issues or concerns that arise with elevator maintenance providers such as billing discrepancies or performance deficiencies.
Manage contract renewals and renegotiations: Evaluate contract performance using CMMS data and market conditions to make informed decisions on contract renewals and renegotiations.
Responsible for monitoring the equipment in the CMMS and making changes as needed to ensure accuracy.
Create and enforce comprehensive maintenance schedules to ensure optimal elevator performance safety and longevity.
Coordinate and supervise regular inspections testing cleaning lubrication and adjustment of elevator components.
Ensure prompt response to elevator malfunctions and breakdowns minimizing downtime and ensuring the safety of users.
Ensure proper communication channels are utilized when experiencing breakdowns.
Ensure key elevator maintenance PM and parts usage information is maintained in the UHealth CMMS System
Work with third parties or directly with the OEMs to identify critical parts and establish a stocking program and plan if the part becomes obsolete.

Core Qualifications
Bachelors degree in engineering (mechanical electrical or industrial) business administration or a related field is preferred.
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience with elevator services and contract management required.
Certified Elevator Technician (CET) or Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI) is preferred
