Job Description
10month fulltime position for theschool year.
Job Description:The EL/Bilingual ResourceTeacher shall provide instruction to help potentially English proficient (PEP) students develop cognitive academic language abilities in order to function at grade level in a monolingual English class.
Primary responsibilites:
- Identify and assess academic level language proficiency level cultural history linguistic history of students who may be/are eligible for bilingual services.
- Make recommendations as to the best placement within the Transitional Bilingual Program (full time or part time)
- Provide direct bilingual and EnglishasaSecondLanguage (ESL) instruction to students
- Participate in the Child Study Team meetings and staffings of potentially English proficient students.
Requirements: Illinois Professional Educator License. Transitional Bilingual Approval English as a Second Language Endorsement or license. Background in Language Arts. Fluency inRussian and English. Experiences in intercultural mediation.
