Job Summary
Martinus is seeking an experienced Rolling Stock Electrical Engineer within the Plant Department. You will work with a variety of rolling stock rail vehicles and mobile plant to oversee modifications of parts and equipment perform fault finding and support routine maintenance ensuring that the plant is prepared for service on time operates efficiently and safely and meets regulatory and network standards. You will also take a leading part in the Martinus strategy to modernise and digitise our fleet.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Support the senior rolling stock engineer in development of technical/functional specifications for new and or modified plant and equipment.
Preparation of Engineering compliance documents.
Review specifications testing instructions procedures testing plan implement static and dynamic tests for mobile plant fixed plant rollingstock in the workshop and OnTrack.
Develop prepare and review the engineering calculations and drawings for electrical designs and/or modifications from concept design to service introduction.
Support the management of the Engineering change process as well as the implementation of waivers type tests with respect to Electrical systems.
Commission test & monitor to assure that all works are delivered and conform to the required standards and that all relevant test results inspections and records required under the contract approvals and legislation are captured.
Provide technical support to staff within the plant department within bounds of expertise.
Provide technical support during fault finding and maintenance activities within bounds of expertise.
Support the development of technical maintenance plans & schedules.
Engage and manage suppliers providing electrical engineering services in order to deliver contracted Scope Of Works (SOWs) on time and on cost.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor of Engineering Electrical Mechatronics or equivalent
RPEQ Desirable
Chartered Engineering status with Engineers Australia Desirable
7 years of experience in rolling stock or heavy plant industries
Strong technical and industry knowledge
Prioritising tasks to changing workload demands
