PARAPROFESSIONAL JOB DESCRIPTION (NEW HINGHAM)Job Description: The paraprofessional assists the classroom teacher by providing instructional behavioral social and emotional support to students with or without disabilities. Depending on the classroom assignment determined each year by the Principal the paraprofessional serves as a 1:1 aide with a student identified as needing support in his/her individualized education plan (IEP) or serves as a general education paraprofessional. Based on the results of an annual performance evaluation the Principal determines consideration for continued Responsibilities:Assists in meeting the instructional needs of the students under the direction of the classroom assistance with classroom with the preparation of instructional with the supervision of students in various an environment conducive to cooperatively and collaboratively with all staff with appropriate school staff about individual student needs while maintaining individual and classroom in the implementation of behavioral plans as with the handling of specialized equipment such as assistive language devices staff meetings and IEP meetings when in maintaining classroom equipment and instructional with feeding diapering and toileting as well as other healthrelated duties as required for students with a positive learning the Principals goals philosophy and mission of the all other duties assigned by the Principal within contractual Expectations:Maintains strong attendance and flexibility as it relates to gradelevel the trust and confidence of independently with general cooperative relationships with students and time to accomplish multiple tasks and meet standard office equipment including computers email and effectively both orally and in Requirements:Ability to move around the classroom including stooping bending reaching and standing for extended periods of be able to occasionally lift or move up to 50 be able to supervise students during outside recess in various Preferred: Not applicable (Degree Preferred will not appear on job posting) Experience Preferred: Not applicable (Degree Preferred will not appear on job posting)
