STUDENT SUCCESS COORDINATOR
Role Description
Coordinate the high school program for students in atrisk situations. Collaborate with high school staff and outside personnel to provide academic and behavior support and educational and career opportunities for students in atrisk situations.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree with a major in education preferred
- Valid Kansas teaching license or Emergency Substitute license
- Such alternatives to the above as acceptable to the Board of Education
Terms of Employment
- Ninemonth (teacher) contract
- Annual salary leave and fringe benefits as determined by the Board of Education
- Evaluation in accordance with district evaluation procedures and state statutes
- Report to the building principal or his/her designee
Duties
AtRisk Program
- Implement procedures to identify and monitor atrisk students at high school level including review of student data.
- Conduct weekly goalsetting and grademonitoring meetings with atrisk students.
- Assist students with course work.
- Provide students in atrisk situations with alternative course work through curriculum modification and acceleration if needed.
- Contacts parents/guardians of atrisk students to provide student affirmations academic and behavior reports and updates on student progress.
- Maintain a system for progress monitoring of all identified atrisk students.
- Communicate and collaborate with classroom teachers regarding the progress of assigned atrisk students
- Actively participate as a member of the LHS intervention team.
Homeroom Mentoring / Advising
- Serve as a homeroom mentor or advisor to assigned students
