The Opportunity: The primary focus of the Washington Small Business Development Center (SBDC) program is business development education through individual and small group advising.
In this position you will serve as an Office Assistant for the Washington SBDC and will primarily respond to and track client inquiries. Following established guidelines and procedures you will process new client inquiries and develop and maintain accurate client records and correspondences. While also providing general information regarding Washington SBDC training events webinars and other special events as requested. You will maintain established record keeping systems and performs basic data entry.
New employees in the Washington SBDC network will need to successfully complete a certification program within six months of hire to become certified to interact with clients. Certification is designed to allow you the new employee to demonstrate your comprehensive knowledge and abilities to be successful in guiding clients toward their goals.

This is a full time 100 FTE) permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary: $2889 to $3811 Range #32 Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 35728.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110 the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidates current experience education skills and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
High School graduation or equivalent and one year of clerical experience; OR equivalent education/experience.
Strong computer skills including demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Word PowerPoint Outlook and Excel.
Successful completion of a certification program within six months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in customer service or as a receptionist.
Proficiency in multiple languages.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse communities.
