Job Description

RNitrous Technician I (Open)

Location:

Tooele UT (N2O) N2O primary production

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW

Nitrous Tech 1
  • Operate plant equipment in accordance with established operating procedures and good manufacturing practices. Includes startup of equipment by opening feed and discharge valves monitoring level gauges temperature indicators and pressure indicators.
  • Performs preventative maintenance activities. Includes minor repairs such as changing oil tighten belts and major repairs such as compressor overhauls. Most maintenance activity is minor repairs.
  • Repairs equipment throughout the facility.
  • Documents maintenance activities and repairs
  • Monitors equipment during operation and maintains operating logs and records. Includes walking through the plant and recording instrument readings.
  • Unload raw material from bulk tank trucks. Trucks are unloaded by connecting unloading and air hoses to truck and opening valves on truck and storage tank.
  • Load product into bulk trucks. This is accomplished by connecting hoses to truck and loading valves and opening valves. A pump is used for transfer of material.
  • Replenish chemicals in polishing towers. The tower is drained with a pump of spent solution and cleaned chemically by circulating cleaning solution with a pump. The bottom hand hole is removed to allow residue to be taken out. The tower is filled with water and chemicals. Chemicals are added manually.
  • Fill cylinders for use in electronic industry. Cylinders are emptied of residual by opening valve and then vacuumed with a vacuum pump 12 at a time). Once vacuumed the fill process includes connecting pigtail to cylinder purging the pigtail three times and opening cylinder valve. A pump is used for filling.
  • Analyze product for conformance with detector tubes GC and oxygen analyzer. The cylinder is connected to the sample line. The sample line is purge by opening and closing cylinder valve 8 10 times. The test take approximately ten minutes
  • Unload and load cylinders onto trucks. Cylinder carts and forklift are provided for this task
  • Other duties as assigned.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and regularly risk exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee occasionally works in high precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions fumes or airborne particles extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Mechanical / Maintenance Experience preferred
  • Computer literate is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings.
  • Ability to operate drill presses saws and other fabrication equipment.
  • Ability to perform mathematical computations.
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
