CLASSIFICATION: Classified
TITLE: Athletic Coach Assistant Level
REPORTS TO: Head Coach of the Assigned Sport
POSITION SUMMARY
To provide assistance to the head coach. To plan organize and implement the teaching of fundamentals strategies rules and proper condition in the assigned sport designed to meet the needs and interest of student athletes. To provide effective leadership that will ensure a positive learning environment and will stress the importance of academic achievement as well as competitiveness. To demonstrate a high degree of ethics professionalism human relations and be a positive role model for all students.
Applicants are encouraged to review Board Policy and Procedures 4295 to understand the Districts philosophy and direction for its interscholastic activities.
Candidates for coaching positions are screened and interviewed by the high school assistant principal in charge of athletics and/or principal. To apply for a coaching job candidates submit a completed application and a letter of interest to the Personnel Department.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
This position is that of an assistant coach and is represented by Monroe Education Association collective bargaining unit. The position of head coach will work a schedule determined by the athletic season. Salary and benefits as determined by the current collective bargaining agreement. Coaching salaries vary depending on the coaching assignment coaching experience and the level of competition.
EVALUATION PROCEDURES
Performance shall be evaluated annually according to Board and administrative policies and procedures.
