Are you driven to help at risk youth and their families Keen to be part of a professional team working together using evidence based models to change lives If this is you then we would welcome your application for the position of Therapeutic Practitioner based in Griffith NSW.

The Role

The role of the Functional Family Therapist is to provide intensive clinical treatment services to children young people and their families with serious and/or complex mental health behavioural and/or emotional needs to maximise their developmental potential. You will deliver the evidencebased model for families of children aged 017 years within the familys home environment across the Riverina region. Comprehensive training in this evidencebased model will be provided to the successful candidate.

The successful applicants will work within a supportive and passionate team at Riverina Medical & Dental Aboriginal Corporation to deliver these services and to ensure the best culturally appropriate therapeutic outcomes for Aboriginal children young people and their families and to families who come from a variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

Riverina Medical and Dental Aboriginal Corporation (RivMed) is a longestablished Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation in the heart of Wiradjuri Country.

RivMed work to effect change in the most marginalised and vulnerable people in our community. We work to achieve this through the provision of culturally appropriate medical and wellbeing services for Aboriginal people and their families.

About You (Selection Criteria)

This is not an Aboriginal identified role however Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander applicants are encouraged to apply.

  1. Have a demonstrated ability to deliver services in a culturally inclusive and respectful manner to Aboriginal families.
  2. Hold a Bachelors/Masters degree in psychology psychotherapy social work or other related mental health field. Applicants with a proven track record in the area of FFT who possess a Diploma and think they can demonstrate they meet the criteria are also encouraged to apply.
  3. Be willing to be trained and participate in all activities associated with the FFTCW model.
  4. Possess strong attention to detail and commitment to data collection.
  5. Possess emotional intelligence high level interpersonal skills time management skills and flexibility with the ability to handle crises.
  6. Have a track record of working collaboratively and competently to negotiate and liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  7. Have a current drivers license the ability to travel within regional areas and be flexible in your hours of work tomeet the needs of families as required.
