Nurse Practitioner Opioid Treatment Program (Contract Position)
Location: NBCC for Burlington Comprehensive Center at Mount Holly Mobile Unit Program
The New Brunswick Counseling Center (NBCC) is currently seeking a Certified Nurse Practitioner to join our Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) on a contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to become an integral part of our mobile unit initiative working alongside a dedicated team of medical and behavioral health professionals to provide compassionate evidence-based care for individuals receiving treatment for opioid use disorder (OUD).
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and ensure nursing services and program operations are in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
- Supervise and evaluate program nurses to maintain
high standards of care.
- Ensure appropriate nursing and medication administration coverage during clinic operation hours.
- Conduct comprehensive admission and annual assessments gathering medical mental health and substance use histories.
- Order interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests (e.g. TB HIV Hepatitis).
- Monitor and support the medical needs of clients who are pregnant HIV-positive or medically complex.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support individualized treatment plans.
- Triage clients for medical supervision or external referral; track outcomes and conduct follow-ups.
- Administer medications for OUD including injectables where appropriate.
- Prescribe medications to address substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
- Monitor clients on psychotropic medications for adverse reactions or side effects.
- Maintain accurate timely and compliant documentation per regulatory standards.
- Perform additional clinical duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license and certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP) in New Jersey.
- Prescriptive authority in New Jersey or eligibility to obtain it.
- Waiver to prescribe Buprenorphine for OUD treatment.
- CPR/AED certification (current).
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in a relevant specialty area (e.g. addiction psychiatry primary care) or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
