We are seeking a talented and driven Sous Chef to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for culinary excellence experience in banquetstyle cooking and exceptional organizational and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Culinary Leadership:
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and execute highquality menus that align with Kairos standards and client expectations.
- Supervise kitchen staff and ensure efficient kitchen operations during both preparation and event service.
- Maintain consistency in taste portioning and presentation across all dishes.
- BanquetStyle Cooking:
- Execute largescale food preparation for events including weddings corporate banquets and specialty occasions.
- Plan and manage the preparation cooking and plating of meals to ensure seamless service for events of various sizes.
- Implement efficient batch cooking techniques while maintaining the quality and integrity of dishes.
- Operational Excellence:
- Oversee kitchen setup breakdown and cleanup processes to ensure a smooth flow for each event.
- Monitor inventory and coordinate with the purchasing team to ensure adequate stock of ingredients and supplies.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations including proper food handling storage and sanitation.
- Team Development:
- Train and mentor kitchen staff to uphold Kairos culinary standards and professionalism.
- Assist in staff scheduling to ensure adequate coverage for kitchen operations.
Qualifications and Skills
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in highvolume cooking techniques including batch cooking food holding and banquet plating.
- Strong knowledge of various cuisines flavor profiles and dietary accommodations (e.g. glutenfree vegan etc..
- Familiarity with modern culinary equipment and techniques.
- Leadership & Organization:
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team in a fastpaced environment.
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple tasks deadlines and priorities.
- Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to adapt to lastminute changes or challenges.
- Education & Experience:
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a sous chef or similar leadership role preferably in catering or banquetstyle cooking.
- Personal Attributes:
- High level of creativity attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with event staff and clients.
