Position Overview
As a Business Intelligence Engineer you will be leading the charge in developing data modeling strategies and design decisions. You will work with a wide range of data technologies (e.g. Redshift Lambda and Tableau) and stay up to date on emerging technologies investigating and implementing where appropriate.
This role requires an individual with proficiency in analytical abilities deep knowledge of business intelligence solutions and the ability to work with technology and business teams. The successful candidate will have passion for data and analytics be a selfstarter comfortable with ambiguity with strong attention to detail an ability to work in a fastpaced and entrepreneurial environment and driven by a desire to innovate Amazons approach to this space.
The key ways this role makes a difference in the Risk Ops organization are:
Develop complex queries for ad hoc requests and projects as well as ongoing reporting.
Design develop and maintain scalable automated userfriendly systems reports dashboards etc. that will support our analytical and business needs
Design implement and support key datasets that provide structured and timely access to actionable business information addressing stakeholder needs.
Interface directly with stakeholders gathering requirements and owning automated endtoend reporting solutions.
Partner with analysts data engineers business intelligence engineers and software development engineers across Books org and Amazon to produce complete data solutions.
Simplify and automate reporting audits and other datadriven activities; build solutions to have maximum scale and selfservice ability by stakeholders
Proficiency with SQL queries to retrieve and analyze data. Learn and understand a broad range of Amazons data resources and know how when and which to use.
3 years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift Oracle NoSQL etc. experience
Experience with data visualization using Tableau Quicksight or similar tools
Experience with data modeling warehousing and building ETL pipelines
Experience writing complex SQL queries
Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2 DynamoDB S3 and Redshift
Experience in data mining ETL etc. and using databases in a business environment with largescale complex datasets
