Who Are We Looking For
We are looking for a Project Engineer with a strong mechanical engineering background and solid experience in engineering design project and construction support within the oil & gas sector. This role requires technical depth strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate with crossfunctional teams to meet project goals on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering calculations and evaluate equipment performance in line with codes and standards.
- Develop review and approve projectspecific engineering documents drawings and reports.
- Vet subcontractor/vendor designs for compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
- Resolve field issues from conceptual design through construction and commissioning.
- Support procurement processes including vendor technical discussions bid analysis and selection.
- Ensure consistent quality across all engineering deliverables.
- Monitor contractor performance and recommend improvements for schedule or quality.
- Participate in HAZOP reviews plant performance tests and design audits.
- Conduct meetings with contractors and stakeholders to resolve design or safety issues.
- Review shop drawings and ensure alignment with contractual and design requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement and integrate lessons learned into ongoing and future projects.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to their technical development.
- Ensure all designs meet safety standards and residual risk is ALARP.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years experience with at least 6 years in engineering construction or maintenance and 3 years in a senior project role (preferably in the oil & gas sector).
- NSE/COREN registration is preferred.
- Deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles and design tools.
- Proficient in CAD and engineering analysis software.
- Strong communication problemsolving and project management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of construction methods and safety regulations.
- Detailoriented analytical and fluent in English (spoken and written).
- Proficient in MS Office Suite.
