Texas Education Agency requires the services of Business Analyst
The Business Analyst (BA) position at the Texas Education Agency works on multiple projects that support the mission of the agency of improving outcomes for Texas students with a focus on the early childhood integrated data system project.
This position performs advanced seniorlevel business analysis work as well as user experience design work to ensure a positive and productive end user experience. The position will ensure design decisions are grounded in user experience and research and adhere to agencywide design standards and industrywide best practices and will partner with the product team and other key stakeholders on design solutions. The business analyst serves as the conduit between the program/customer community and the software development team through which requirements flow.
This BA will be involved at some level throughout the entire software development life cycle. Upon establishment of the requirements baseline the focus is shifted towards the management of the requirements specification and verifying the fulfillment of all requirements including requirements for enhancements postimplementation.
Required
- 8 Yrs Experience eliciting requirements from interviews with customers and creating wellwritten system requirements
- 8 Yrs Experience with software development life cycles (SDLCs)
- 8 Yrs experience Business process reengineering and software process flow improvement experience
- 8 Yrs Experience developing user stories and use cases that conform to business analysis best practices
- 8 Yrs Experience designing mockups and/or wireframes that conform to UX best practices
- 5 Yrs experience Demonstrated strong communication and facilitation skills
- 5 Yrs experience Demonstrated strong writing and organization skills
- 4 Yrs Documented experience developing wireframes mockups & prototypes in Figma or comparable design software
- 3 Yrs Experience ensuring designs and website conform to federal accessibility guidelines
Preferred
- 3 Yrs experience Documented work experience with the requirements management software "Modern Requirements"
- 3 Yrs experience Documented work experience with the issue tracking software "Atlassian Jira"
- 2 Yrs experience Documented experience working for or closely with TEA or another state or local education agency
- 1 Yr experience Documented work experience in early childhood care and education
