Job Description
The designated Accountant will play a central role in supporting the financial health and regulatory compliance of our group operations. The successful candidate will be expected to perform the following core responsibilities:
- Preparing accurate and timely monthly management accounts and statutory financial statements;
- Maintaining a comprehensive general ledger and overseeing daily transaction recording in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS);
- Preparing and filing tax and statutory returns including VAT PAYE NAPSA and NHIMA;
- Coordinating internal and external audits and ensuring readiness for compliance reviews;
- Undertaking cost control and budget performance analysis;
- Providing strategic financial insights to support business decisionmaking;
- Ensuring full automation and digitization of financial reporting through the deployment of accounting software.
Requirements
- A minimum of a Bachelor s degree in Accounting Finance or a closely related field from a recognized university;
- Membership with ZICA (at least at Licentiate Level) is compulsory;
- A minimum of three 3 years postgraduation experience in a financial management or accounting role;
- Demonstrated proficiency in accounting software such as Pastel Sage Evolution QuickBooks or similar platforms;
- Sound knowledge of Zambian tax and financial reporting obligations;
- High levels of integrity discretion and analytical capability.
