The Electrical Systems Engineer will lead the design and development of hardware systems integration across various vehicle subsystems. You will be responsible for the complete endtoend integration of hardware components focusing on subsystems such as chassis thermal body safety and lighting. You will be working collaboratively with crossfunctional teams to support product design vehicle behaviors definition prototype bringup and debugging ensuring the seamless functionality and performance of all systems throughout the product lifecycle. You will conceptualize design engineer and support the launch of nextgeneration vehicle platform architectures for electric vehicles.



Responsibilities
  • Lead hardware systems integration by developing executing and reporting on integration test plans for components and system features with a focus on rapid risk retirement from new designs and providing feedback to development teams.
  • Define test and validate hardware and system requirements for various vehicle subsystems with a particular emphasis on lighting components system functions and customer features.
  • Lead and manage the integration of initial prototype systems including bringup debugging and engineering tests of prototype bucks lab cars and vehicles.
  • Create hardware and system product specifications and interface directly with suppliers to support sourcing design activities.
  • Contribute to the development and validation of electrical architecture perform trade studies to realize efficient design strategies and optimize for cost mass performance and serviceability.
  • Drive functional safety analyses and decomposition of complex vehicle subsystems create functional boundary diagrams and system interface specifications.
  • Support future vehicle architecture studies with a strong focus on scalable platform solutions while maintaining engineering cost targets
  • Support development of vehicle logical schematics and overall electrical architecture of the program
  • Work crossfunctionally with component owners across the organization to drive optimal electrical system designs that satisfy electrical architecture requirements


Qualifications

B.S in Electrical Computer or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

  • 5 years of experience working on complex electrical systems or electronics designs
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and ability to apply them to automotive concepts
  • Proven debugging and diagnostic skills in electrical mechanical and software domains
  • Experience with Vehicle Network Protocols such as CAN LIN & Automotive Ethernet
  • Experience with creating and executing component and system level test proceduresAP1
  • Experience with requirements capture in requirements management software platforms (JAMA etc)
  • Excellent teamwork problemsolving communication and project management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • An eagerness to work crossfunctionally in a dynamic environment where you are part of a high performing team
  • A systems approach to design and development with the desire and curiosity to strive for exceptional delivery and continuous improvement

Preferred Requirements:

  • Masters Degree Electrical Engineering Computer Science Mechanical Engineering or related fields
  • Handson experience with electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes DMMs signal generators power supplies etc.
  • Experience with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA)
  • Experience with electrical / electromechanical devices involving networked microcontrollers and embedded software
  • Experience with creating and modifying network interface description files is a plus
