Job Description
Spotsylvania County Public Schools is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Substitute Teacherswho will serve in acritical role that supports the educational environment in the absence of the classroom teacher. As a Substitute at SCPS you willteach lesson plans as outlined by the teacher encourage and maintain a positive classroom environment and work closely with students to ensure their academic needs are met. Supported by members of staff and administration this position offers many networking and experience opportunites to those new to Education AND those who have been a part of this industry for many years.

Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Preferred age of 21 years or older.
- If an applicant is under 21 proof of enrollment in an education program must be provided.
Special Note:
A negative tuberculosis (TB) test result must be presented prior to your application being considered. Please see the How To Apply section for more details.
Current Rates:
Substitute Daily Rate:
- $100.00/day without a fouryear degree
- $110.00/day with a fouryear degree or higheror teacher certification
- $90.00/day paraeducator
Permanent Substitute Daily Rate:
- $135.00/day
LongTerm Substitute Daily Rate:
- $150.00/day
- $195.00/day with a teacher certification
How to Apply:
Please complete the online application. Once submittedobtain a current (within the last year) physicians certificate indicating you are free of communicable tuberculosis. If you do not have a current certificate the TB test may be administered by your family doctor or an appointment can be made with one of the local health departments for a nominal fee. The results of the TB skin test or assessment must be receivedbeforeyour application can begin the onboarding process.
