Job Description

Were hiring a full-time W-2 Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide K 12 school-based services for the school year. Position Details

  • Caseload: Multiple positions available mostly 1:1 support positions
  • Schedule: Monday Friday
  • Hours: 37.5 40 hours/week
  • Dates: August 2025 May 2026
  • Location: Onsite in North Carolina

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments across a variety of educational settings
  • Adapt and modify instructional materials to meet students visual needs
  • Conduct functional vision assessments and learning media assessments
  • Collaborate with general and special education teachers families and support staff to ensure access to the curriculum
  • Provide consultation and training to school teams regarding accommodations assistive technology and strategies for students with visual impairments
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of individualized education plans

Qualifications

  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in Special Education with endorsement in Visual Impairments or equivalent required
  • Current North Carolina Professional Educator s License with certification in Visual Impairments (88087)
  • Experience working in K 12 settings preferred
  • Strong understanding of braille instruction assistive technology and orientation & mobility collaboration
  • Excellent communication organizational and collaboration skills
  • Student-centered flexible and committed to inclusive education
