Job Summary/Description:
The Digital Content Producer/Reporter gathers writes reports and copy edits news stories for all digital platforms apps and digital extensions in addition to generating story ideas for digital and broadcast coverage editing and posting multimedia content to all digital platforms and social media. Appearances on CTV television and digital platforms/social media as an oncamera reporter should be expected. This position may also be called upon to video and live stream press conferences or breaking news events as warranted. This shift will include work on nights and weekends as well as fillin shifts to cover the AM shift as assigned.
Duties/Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:
* Strong journalism and writing skills with an emphasis on AP style
* Copyedit digital news stories written by other newsroom reporters
* Social media skills as related to journalism
* Video news gathering shooting and video/audio editing
* Oncamera presentation of news as assigned for CTV digital and broadcast platforms
* Make phone calls and work with other reporters/newsmakers to generate content for all digital platforms and broadcast
* Create eyecatching visuals and graphics to increase digital and social media engagement
* Develop and maintain sources for online and onair reporting
* Constant vigilance of current events
* Respond to viewer/reader inquiries by phone email and social media
* Various shift work will be required; holiday work required
Qualifications/Requirements:
* Knowledge of AP Stylebook
* Able to use social media outlets to engage viewers
* Must be able to and edit video (Grass Valley Edius knowledge is a plus)
* Must be able to work well under pressure and with limited supervision
* Strong initiative and attention to detail is required
* Ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving in a manner that will work well with coworkers supervisors and viewers/readers
* Solid keyboarding skills
* Comfort and clear accurate conversational delivery style onair and on digital LIVE platforms
* Ability to work with Google Docs ARC CMS ENPS Grass Valley edit or equivalent
* College Degree in Journalism or equivalent
* Valid Drivers License and clean driving record
