The mission of the Computer Science Department is toprepare students for rewarding careers and higher education. The departmentoffers Bachelor of Science Degrees in Computer Science and Computer Information Technology and Master of Science Degrees in Computer Science and Software Engineering. Currently there are approximately 1700 undergraduate majors in CS 400 undergraduate majors in CIT and 200 graduate students. Masters degree students are required to complete a thesis.

department of Computer Science at California State University Northridge (CSUN) is seeking a tenuretrack faculty member at the rank of associate professor in the specialization in data science.

The successful candidate will teach primarily data science courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and have research interests in Computational Data Science Machine Learning or Natural Language Processing.

In addition to teaching the position requires weekly office hours attending faculty meetings participation in assessment of student learning and service to the department college and university. The successful candidate will be held to the standards and requirements of the college and department in which he/she/they is/are housed for recommending tenure and promotion. Given CSUNs commitment to excellence in teaching research and engagement in a diverse environment the successful candidate will help the Department achieve equitable academic outcomes for all students through teaching student mentorship scholarship and service.
