Location/Division Specific Information
This role will be based at our Depot Street Banyo Brisbane site and is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract role. Once training has been completed the role will offer a Hybrid working model.
About the Role:
This role is focused on purchasing of materials for internal customers (warehouse operations quality control) and support departments if needed. Youll use your basic understanding of material planning and work with internal customers to understand their material requirements and close possible planning gaps within SAP. In addition this role also requires review and updating material master data and coordination with warehouse and finance teams for timely processing of supplier invoices.
What Youll Do:
Key Responsibilities:
Material Ordering:
- Revision and release of SAPgenerated purchase requests based on purchasing horizon material expiry and order volume
- Order acknowledgement and followup. Effective supplier communication to bring materials on time
- Update of delivery dates in SAP based on supplier feedback and supplier back orders
Material and Supplier Master Data:
- Handling of supplier registration process
- Update and maintain lead time and price lists from suppliers in SAP
- Handling of material data review and update for purchasing logistics and planning activities in SAP
Internal Customer Communications:
- Generate material reports from SAP to provide ordering status and updates to Operations and Quality departments during weekly meetings
- Generate purchasing related reports when required (supplier spend consumption usage) to identify trends
- Collaborate with Warehouse team to resolve inbound issues
- Provide required quality certificates and delivery documentation to Warehouse team when needed
Accounts Payable (AP) Team Support:
- Review of invoicing issues in Catalyst system making sure that 3 waymatches (order goods receipt and invoice) are met prior to invoice due date
- Liaise with Accounts Payable (AP) team to process credit notes when required
Internal Projects:
- Suggest changes and improvements to purchasing and planning activities collaborate with the rest of the team to find a better way.
- Support any improvement initiatives within planning and purchasing team when needed
- Support work instructions and standard procedures drafting when needed
Other Responsibilities
- Follow all company standard procedures and cGMP standards.
- Participate in site initiatives (e.g. green teams social club etc)
- Compliance to site EH&S rules and requirements.
Keys to Success:
Education:
- Degree qualification or equivalent procurement/supply chain related certification (CIPS)
Skills and Experience:
- Min 3 yrs industry work experience within a similar Procurement Specialist role
- SAP (or other ERP) system experience
- Proficient in report creation and basic data analysis in Excel
- Experience with supplier relationship handling
- Excellent interpersonal skills both written and verbal
- Natural problem solving capabilities and the ability to work independently and multitask
- Understanding and/or knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) desirable
