BEFORE consideration can be given for this positiona TBI/FBI Fingerprint background check must be done.

(SEE INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO SCHEDULE below)

There is a one time (nonrefundable) fee of $37.15.

Substitute Teachers at the District Wide Level will be considered for work at all eight 8 schoolsin the district.

This will include Elementary Middle Grades and High School level classes.

Substitute teachers are extremely important to the districts success in our students continued education. Applicants should possess a minimum High School diploma or GED successfully pass a TBI/FBI Fingerprint background check pass a Child & Protective Services (CPS) background check complete an initial physical examination and be available to work on short notice if needed.

All candidates must submit an online application provide proof of highest level of education and two 2 Professional references with email addresses.

At the end of the school year all active substitutes are required to submit an Intent to Return form to remain on the substitute list for the upcoming school year. This form must be received in the Human Resources Office by June 30th.Failure to submit the Intent to Return will result in removal from the active substitute list and will require you to complete the process again.


***BACKGROUND CHECK PROCEDURES***

All fingerprint background checks for Lauderdale County Schools are processed thru the L1 Enrollment Services. The cost of the background check is the responsibility of the candidate at the time of service. This fee will enable the Department of Education to receive the results of the background check in a timely manner. The district does not reimburse for background check fees. ALL applicants require fingerprint background checks. Please follow the steps identified below.

A. To register and make an appointment:

1. CallMondayFriday 8:00 am 4:30 pm.

Once registered you will receive a registration confirmation number.

2. Go online to: and follow the steps below:

Click on SCHEDULE A NEW APPOINTMENT

Click on DONT KNOW YOUR SERVICE CODE

Click on the Agency Name box and select STATE SCHOOLS/COLLEGES

Select applicant type and click GO.

Enter ORI Number: TN930720Z and click GO

Select YES (Lauderdale County Bo of Ed) then follow the instructions on the screen.

B. Proceed to the fingerprint location of your choice at your scheduled appointment time.

You must be preregistered and must pay with either a MONEY ORDER made out to L1 Enrollment Services or use a CREDIT CARD for the fees.

C. At the fingerprint service site the Applicant must provide a valid State or Federal government issued identification (driver license birth certificate or social security card) and a set of fingerprints will be taken.

D. Fingerprints will be electronically forwarded to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) and all results of the fingerprint background check will be provided to the Agency.

E. Complete the Waiver Agreement and Statement of Criminal History Checks form and Child Protection Services Waiver form. Email both forms along with your receipt to

F. Once your results are received by LCS you will be notified by Human Resources.
