TITLE: Administrative Teacher on Assignment (TOA)
EMPLOYMENT TERMS: 184day contract
SALARY CLASSIFICATION: Exempt Certified
GENERAL STATEMENT of RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Administrative Teacher on Assignment (TOA) will be responsible for supporting the site Principal in providing leadership to the school with primary duties being in the area of Student Services.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
- Assist the site Principal and work collaboratively as part of the administrative team to provide a safe engaging and relevant educational experience for students.
- Assist in the coordination of student services of the school (student conduct special services etc.
- Assist in the coordination of the academic programming of the school.
- Assist with the supervision and coordination of the athletic and activities programs of the school.
- Assist with testing attendance discipline supervision of the students and special projects.
- Use multiple sources of data to assess student progress and plan for school improvement.
- Incorporate academic and behavior modifications in an effective manner to assist students in learning and growing.
- Communicate effectively with the stakeholders (teachers staff students parents/guardians community members other administrators district office staff) about the pertinent areas under your supervision.
- Attend/lead meetings pertinent to the primary duties of ones role at the school and district levels.
- Stay current on relevant laws policies and procedures in fulfilling job responsibilities.
- Manage the task specific to the assignments as provided by the principal.
- Complies with all rules regulations and policies of the Governing Board that related to the duties as prescribed.
- Supervise and evaluate teachers and other staff as assigned (if properly certified to do so).
- Agrees that during the period of the contract s/he will perform management duties or other duties as assigned by the administration or Governing Board.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in education; masters degree with coursework in Administration preferred.
- Valid AZ Department of Education Secondary Teaching Certificate; Principal Certificate preferred.
- Successful experience in teaching Secondary Education.
- Commitment to active student learning.
- Experience in curriculum development and alignment of state standards.
- Evidence of cooperative and caring human relationships and team building skills.
- Two years of related experience preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
OCCUPATIONAL CONDITION:
Low risk Work is routinely performed in indoor environments including exposure to noise and being on your feet for extended periods of time. May be required to travel outdoors in inclement conditions to go from building to building for meetings or classes. The employee may be required to move from room to room through corridors heavily congested with people. The working hours are somewhat flexible as the job requires some evening and weekend work.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Applying reason to research and solving moderately complex issues with little or no assistance.
- Performing basic original research to assist with developing teaching plans and instructional materials.
- Gathering data analyzing findings and applying logic and reason.
- Authoring and preparing original reports documents and presentations.
- Researching industry trends solutions and best practices.
- Utilizing communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers supervisors the public and others to sufficiently exchange or convey information and receive work direction.
KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Demonstrated knowledge of secondary school education and administration.
- Excellent organizational communication and interpersonal skills as well as attention to detail.
- Strong computer skills and ability to analyze data in various applications including excel.
- Modern office technology.

The evaluation is done by the Site Principal.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
The Admin TOA reports directly to the Site Principal.
