The Office of the Insurance Commissioner (OIC) is seeking a motivated and qualified individual to fill our ExaminerinCharge (Financial Examiner 3 position. This role is within the Company Supervision Division and offers the chance to work from our Seattle Downtown Office.

About the Position

The ExaminerinCharge (Financial Examiner 3 position plays a critical role in supporting the mission of the organization by overseeing and leading examinations of insurance companies and other regulated entities. This position ensures that these entities maintain solvency and comply with applicable laws statutes and regulations. The examiner will conduct these assessments in alignment with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) accreditation standards and internal policies. As a key contributor the ExaminerinCharge is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance and safeguarding the financial stability of the industry.


This recruitment may be used to establish a qualified pool of candidates for Financial Examiner 3 vacancies in the next sixty days.

This is a Washington General Service position. The monthly salary range for this position is $6539 $8801.

Additional premium pay of 5 will be applied to those positions with an official King County duty station.

Required Qualifications:


Qualifying professional experience is defined as experience auditing analyzing or preparing financial statements: balance sheet income statement cash flow statement and notes thereto as an accountant auditor or examiner with a public accounting firm or as an accountant internal auditor or external auditor or examiner of insurance companies banks savings and loan associations municipalities etc. state or federal or private entities.
