Job Description:
DUTIES:
*Plans organizes and coordinates mental health operations/programs. Evaluates mental health programs to correct deficiencies and to ensure proper documentation.
*Responsible for the weekly supervision of Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Practitioners and monthly supervision of Licensed Mental Health Practitioners.
*Assesses psychosocial status and needs of inmates served using information from psychological evaluations social work assessments individual history and direct clinical observations to recommend treatment dispositions plan changes or referral for major mental illness or disorder. Counsels treats and provides psychotherapy to individual and groups of inmates diagnosed with a mental illness developmental impairment or otherwise identified as having special needs.
*Coordinates interdisciplinary team meetings and/or serves as a member to ensure completeness of individual treatment plans or other case management functions or to update treatment plans.
*Actively participates in multidisciplinary treatment planning being knowledgeable of effective interventions and strategies for the assigned population as well as individuals.
*Must maintain current Nebraska licensure as a Mental Health Practitioner.
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Behavioral Health Practitioner Supervisor I: State of Nebraska license as Mental Health Practitioner.
Behavioral Health Practitioner Supervisor II: State of Nebraska licenses as Mental Health Practitioner and Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
Legal Requirements: Licensure requirements for all levels pursuant to Nebraska State Statutes 24 and 38316.
Preferred Qualifications: Supervisory experience. Experience working with criminal offenders. Bilingual skills in Spanish/English desired and assessed. Dually credentialed.
Other: Proof of licensure and transcripts required upon acceptance of a job offer. Must submit to a security background check. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the preemployment medical exam and a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy must successfully complete the fully paid Nebraska Department of Correctional Services Training Program.
