Sr. Principal Analyst P&C Life Insurance Insurance Investment Services Core Systems (RemoteUS)
About the role:
Gartner Analysts are industry thought leaders who create musthave research market predictions and best practices for a broad range of worldleading organizations. A Sr Principal Analyst possesses a keen eye for identifying gaps problems and solutions within their market. They use their knowledge to help clients make better decisions solve complex issues and execute new practices that propel clients businesses toward critical objectives. An Analyst publishes these insights as pragmatic and provocative research. Additionally they reinforce Gartners value every day by engaging clients via inperson and virtual meetings sales support visits Gartner conferences and industry events. This includes writing about presenting and advising insurance organizations and other financial services firms about market trends vendors services governance and best practices in selecting and implementing core systems.
What you will do:
Create highquality clear actionable musthave research content based on research best practices and methodologies in the financial services industry on core systems. Specific focus areas will include strategy business value best practices market trends technologies and vendors of our target audience including CIOs and product leaders at vendors.
Demonstrate broad spectrum coverage of the market and produce innovative thoughtleading impactful analytically deep factbased research.
Serve as a leading authority on insurance or investment services core systems such as: understanding insurance and/or investment services core system components and capabilities; legacy systems modernization; ensuring proper governance of insurance or investment services core systems; navigating the core system technology landscape; connecting core system modernization to daytoday process improvement and wholesale transformation.
Stay abreast of broader research and trends in core system modernization including the application of AI and data analytics methods as applied to core systems development operation and data migration.
Provide current and prospective clients with actionable advice via virtual and facetoface interactions.
Support business growth and client engagement strategies by partnering with Gartners commercial organization to create longterm value for both clients and Gartner.
Provide clients and prospects with actionable core system advice via virtual or facetoface interactions.
Act as an internal advisor on how insurance or investment services systems and practices technologies and approaches are impacting the insurance or broader financial services industry.
Create and deliver presentation materials for Gartner events industry and professional association conferences and client briefings.
Build your personal brand as a functional expert to drive Gartners research methodology and strategy.
Provide highquality and timely research peer review. Provide mentorship and support to team members.
Actively participate in innovation ideation and research discussions and collaborate effectively with peers in the analytics & AI research community.
What you will need:
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience; Graduate degree preferred.
810 years of experience with insurance and or investment services development and support is required.
Insurance experience with increasing scope and responsibility in one or more lines of business such as property and casualty investment/wealth management and life and annuities.
Familiarity with core system vendors in North America (examples include FIS DXC Oracle Sapiens Broadridge SEI Duck Creek Majesco Guidewire SS&C etc. a plus.
Experience with the deployment of core system capabilities to support short mid or longterm decision making in one or more functions such as policy administration underwriting claims/billing operations and call center etc.
Ability to work in a small team setting. Selfstarter with the ability to successfully navigate through a matrixed organization.
Strong written and verbal proficiency analytical and presentation skills; ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions.
Exposure to advanced analytics tools and approaches via onthejob experience or formalized education (backgrounds in math statistics and physics a plus).
Moderate willingness to travel; though primarily a virtual role Analysts occasionally have opportunities for domestic and international travel.

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 105000 USD 140000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range or be above or below the range based on factors including but not limited to education training experience professional achievement business need and location. In addition to base salary employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance or a rolebased uncapped sales incentive plan.
