Job Description
Archbishop Spalding High School is accepting applications for the position of Spanish teacher for theacademic year. TheHigh School Spanish teacher should be knowledgeable about current instructional strategies and be skilled at creating lessons with high levels of student engagement.
Essential Functions
- Provide gradeappropriate instructional programs for students in grades 912.
- Integrates technology in lessons.
- Maintains an attractive organized and engaging learning environment.
- Develops lesson plans with clear objectives in line with the Archdiocesan Course of Study.
- Uses data to create differentiated learning experiences.
- Provides gradeappropriate extended or enrichment opportunities.
Position Qualifications
- Knowledge of the Spanish language and culture
- Ability to speak in the target language
- Bachelors degree or higher in Education or Spanish
- Qualifications needed for MSDE secondary certification
- Pedagogical knowledge and experience in teaching the Spanish language at the high school level preferred
- Understanding and appreciation for curriculum development and collaboration
- Strong proficiency in utilizing digital or online platforms specifically Google Suite and Canvas
- Enthusiasm for working with adolescents
- A deep understanding of adolescent pedagogy and development
- A desire to grow through reflective professional practice
- A desire to build a community of connection and belonging
Range: $42000 $85000 Annualized
