About the Opportunity
Were looking for a Product Manager (PM) with a passion for learning a kind heart a positive attitude and a great sense of humor to join our growing team. The PM will act as a liaison between the development team and ClearGov customers/users. They will gather and develop user stories which describe the product from the users perspective and use these insights to create detailed product requirement specifications. The PM is responsible for managing the of product development through the Agile Development process lifecycle.
The PM will also act as the goto resource for product expertise to provide crossfunctional support as needed including but not limited to resolving Client Success issues enabling product Training programs and facilitating Sales opportunities.
The ideal candidate must be a datadriven growthoriented contributor and a creative outofthebox thinker. The position requires someone passionate about our mission who can learn the local government market quickly; who is fluent in Atlassian project management tools; and who has been successful managing projects from ideation to launch.
The PM will be a key player on an incredible team as we execute our mission to help local governments and school districts take the next step from good to great.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively communicate and collaborate with ClearGov clients and prospective users to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into product requirements
- Collect define and organize feature/functionality requests from internal (Sales and Client Success) and external (Customers) sources
- Develop user stories and translate them into detailed product requirements specifications
- Research and provide competitive insights to the product strategy team
- Actively participate with product leaders to define the vision for the assigned products
- Creating a detailed product roadmap based on this vision
- Manage the feature backlog and prioritize requests based on changing requirements
- Monitor and evaluate product progress at each stage of the process and effectively resolve bottleneck issues and communicate critical path priorities
- Actively participate in Scrum meetings and product sprints
Critical Skills/Experience:
- 4 years of product management/development or related experience
- Indepth knowledge of Scrum and Agile Software Development Methodology
- Proven success in managing complex multifaceted SaaS product development in a highgrowth earlystage environment
- Superb organizational and time management skills and ability to prioritize effectively
- Working knowledge of product development architecture
- Proven ability to actively listen to customer input/feedback and identify solutions
- Proficiency with the Atlassian product management suite including Jira Confluence and Trello
- Profound attention to detail and an informed POV on what makes product development work
- Working knowledge of usercentered design principles and design quality standards
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Proven ability to work with crossfunctional teams
- A strong interest in the localgovernment space along with the willingness and ability to get up to speed quickly on the key buyer personas and processes
- A rollupyoursleeves GSD approach to the daytoday. A willingness to hustle and innovate whenever and however necessary to get important things done
