Job Description
School Psychologist
School Assignment TBD
School Year
0.5 to 1.0 FTE
Position Description
The School Psychologist is under the general supervision of the Director of Special Education and the direct supervision of the Principal or a designate of the assigned building. The School Psychologist evaluates referred students for eligibility recommendations and serves as a District consultant for psychological and behavioral support. The use of independent judgment and decision making is required in many matters not having established rules regulations policies or precedent.
Qualifications and Skills
- Administers psychological and/or diagnostic tests to determine proper placement of referred students.
- Collects data pertaining to the learning and behavioral characteristics of referred students.
- Analyzes and interprets evaluation data to school personnel and parents.
- Works with medical personnel and other support agencies to promote educational opportunities for students with special needs.
- Member of schoolbased data and RTI teams.
- Facilitates staffing and IEP meetings consistent with District guidelines and IDEA requirements.
- Meets the South Lane School District Standards of Performance for Educators.
- Has appropriate Oregon School Psychologist license.
Compensation
Salary will be determined by experience and degree level on the current SLSD licensed salary schedule.
