Other Conditions:

For placement in lecturer pool beginning Fall 2024 Spring 2025 and Summer 2025. Positions are parttime temporary nontenure and contingent upon course offerings sufficient student enrollment position clearance and availability of funds.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Teach assigned courses in the appropriate discipline. Course offering are for the following:

ANSC 133 Fundamentals of Riding I 3 (lecture/lab)

ANSC 141 Intro to Animal Science

ANSC 163 Intro Equine Sports & Careers

ANSC 175 Animal Behavior and Handling (lecture/lab)

ANSC 193 Horse Handling & Practical Skills (lecture/lab)

ANSC 223 Intro to Wildlife Science (lecture/lab)

ANSC 233 Fundamentals of Riding II (lecture/lab)

ANSC 254 Fundamentals of Nutrition

ANSC 350 Anatomy/Physiology of Farm Animal (lecture/lab)

ANSC 351 Swine Production (lecture/lab)

ANSC 353 Horse Production (lecture/lab)

ANSC 357 Ruminant Production Systems (lecture/lab)

ANSC 393 Equine Anatomy & Biomechanics (lecture/lab)

ANSC 421 Intro to Veterinary Pharmacology

ANSC 450 Physiology Reproduction (lecture/lab)

ANSC 453 Animal Disease & Parasites (lecture/lab)

ANSC 476 Wildlife Population Ecology (lecture/lab)

Other related courses as needed (lecture and/or lab)

  1. Prepare course schedule syllabus and reports related to teaching and

student progress.

  1. Work under the supervision of discipline chairperson.
  2. Maintain minimum of one office hour per week for each course taught.
  3. Commitment to principles of higher education and philosophy is essential.
  4. Possible evening weekend and offcampus assignments and also distance learning assignments for courses taught via the Internet. (For some teaching fields openings may only be available for classes offered offcampus or taught via the Internet)
  1. Other related tasks and/or duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  1. M.A. M.S. or equivalent experience (e.g. B.A./B.S. with relevant certifications and/or years of experience) in the appropriate subject area
  2. Teaching experience at university or community college level.

Desirable Qualifications

  1. Ph.D. or DVM
  2. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student population.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work with and manage livestock or wildlife.
