Millimans Western Region Property and Casualty (WRPC) Practice provides a wide variety of actuarial consulting services including reserve projections feasibility studies retention analyses predictive modeling rate development rate indications and state filing support.
What You Will Do
WRPC services a broad array of clients in the property and casualty field focusing primarily on loss reserve and pricing analyses for insurance companies and selfinsured corporations including alternative risk programs such as captive insurance companies. This position provides excellent opportunities for professional development and advancement.
An actuary at the Analyst level contributes independently and with the support of a collaborative team. Our ideal hire for this role is someone who enjoys thinking critically to solve a clients business problems. This Actuarial Analyst will have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of projects and client work such as pricing filing reserving and predictive modeling.
This person will also:
- Create exhibits and perform analyses under supervision of Consultant or Principal
- Conduct data aggregation and manipulation
- Check reports and exhibits for accuracy to comply with internal checking and documentation guidelines
- Interact with clients to acquire and validate data
- Perform or assist with other duties assigned at the direction of Consultants and Principals
What We Are Looking For
Required Professional Qualifications
- Completed Bachelors degree (at time of application) in economics finance actuarial science or similar major
- Two or more actuarial exams passed (at time of application)
- Intention to pursue credentials through the Casualty Actuarial Society
- A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience (which can include internships) including data aggregation and analysis using R Python SQL etc.
- Demonstrated handson experience with Excel

- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior P&C pricing and/or reserving experience
- Experience with business intelligence / visualization software (e.g. PowerBI Tableau)
- Experience with predictive modeling e.g. generalized linear models claims models underwriting models telematics etc.
Location
This is a remote position. Candidates hired into this role may work onsite in select Milliman office locations if they prefer. Some workrelated travel may be required; such expenses will be reimbursed per Milliman policy. Please note paid relocation assistance is not available for this role.

Compensation
The salary range is $63000 $152000 depending on a combination of factors including but not limited to education relevant work experience qualifications skills certifications location etc. If overall experience is less than 4 years the range would be $63000 $135000; for experience of greater than 4 years the range would be $71000 $152000.
