Job Description
PODER Academy Secondary School Middle School Electives Teacher (Grades 7th8th)
The Mission
PODER Secondary is an innovative collegeprep school focused on proficiency. Student scores in the core subjects exceed national and state averages.
Position Summary
PODER Secondary is a smallschool environment where teachers track individual students and tailor instruction accordingly. There is a heavy focus on classroom management where behavior disruptions are minimized. Seeking creative minds who enjoy teaching. This position runs the online elective classes for 7th and 8th grade students.
Qualifications
- BA or BS degree in any secondary education.
- Able to pass a background check
- Experience working with 7th and 8th grade and/or experience working with diverse students is a plus (not required)
- Multiple Certifications/Endorsements is a plus (not required)
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus (not required)
Responsibilities
- Develop lesson plans and deliver instruction
- Provide small group and individual instruction
- Provide weekly lesson plans to the Principal
- Collaborate with team members to develop innovative instruction techniques
