Job Description
As a WHS Manager you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining Amazons road safety programs to ensure safe transportation operations. You will work closely with Delivery Service Providers (DSPs) drivers and operations teams to proactively identify risks drive safety initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory and company safety standards. This role requires a strong ability to analyze data conduct safety training and implement process improvements to enhance driver and road safety performance.
Key job responsibilities
Safety Monitoring & Risk Management
oConduct regular safety reviews to analyze incidents track safety metrics and identify trends.
oMonitor driver safety scores and implement corrective actions where necessary.
oAssess weather conditions and communicate road hazard alerts to mitigate risks.
Field Visits & Driver Engagement
oConduct onroad safety observations and ridealong with drivers to reinforce safe driving behaviors.
oPerform safety audits at delivery stations and assess infrastructure hazards.
oEngage directly with drivers and leadership to coach on best practices for safe driving.
Incident Investigations & Compliance
oLead accident investigations nearmiss analyses and root cause determinations.
oDevelop and implement corrective action plans based on investigation findings.
oEnsure compliance with regulatory safety standards and internal Amazon policies.
Training & Capability Building
oConduct safety training sessions for drivers safety leads and station teams.
oDevelop and update training materials to reflect new safety initiatives and industry best practices.
oTrack training completion rates and ensure consistent knowledge reinforcement.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Program Implementation
oWork closely with DSPs station operations teams and regional safety managers to align on safety goals.
oLead the rollout of new safety initiatives campaigns and process improvements.
oParticipate in crossfunctional meetings to drive a culture of safety across all stakeholders.
Data Analytics & Reporting
oMaintain and analyze safety performance dashboards tracking key metrics such as incident rates and driver compliance scores.
oGenerate detailed safety reports with actionable insights for leadership and stakeholders.
oIdentify trends and areas for continuous improvement using datadriven decisionmaking.
Strategic Planning & Continuous Improvement
oDevelop longterm safety programs aimed at reducing incidents and enhancing driver safety performance.
oAllocate resources effectively to prioritize safety initiatives based on risk assessments.
oEnsure alignment with Amazons global road safety standards and contribute to best practice sharing across regions.
Audits & Compliance Reviews
oConduct compliance checks on DSPs ensuring adherence to safety regulations and operational best practices.
oPerform policy reviews documentation audits and ensure regulatory updates are effectively communicated.
oAssess safety program effectiveness through structured audits and stakeholder feedback.
3 years of increasing responsibilities in WHS or environmental programs in manufacturing production or service operations experience
Bachelors degree or 2 years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications and the use of pivot tables and the development of charts and graphics
Experience in Distribution Center or Manufacturing EHS with mix of exempt and nonexempt employees at a site of at least 250 people
Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment
