As the Royal Canadian Air Forces prime service provider at 5 Wing Goose Bay Labrador our team delivers comprehensive air operations emergency services logistics and engineering expertise to the Department of National Defence. We work on behalf of DNDs no fail mission at Goose Bay: supporting NORAD operations for the projection of air power on the north and northeast coasts of Canada while supporting military training for the Canadian Armed Forces Allies and NORAD. 5 Wing Goose Bay provides effective training facilities adaptable infrastructures and a unique austere and challenging training location. You will be part of a team that works closely with the military customer and other Serco teams to deliver quality and efficient services to DND. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Read and interpret specifications scopes sketches or drawings to determine the layout of heating and ventilation system requirements.

• Preparation of cost estimates for clients.

• Ensure all work on Halocarbon containing equipment is compliant with the Federal Halocarbon Regulations (FHR).

• Responsible for the maintenance of selfcontained breathing apparatus (SCBA) compressors.

• Assist other technicians/ staff in the operation maintenance and repair of building HVAC systems and related controls.

• Document all information concerning the work performed labor and materials used to complete assigned work.

• Train HVAC/Refrigeration apprentices up to Journeyperson standard and endorse appropriate documentation.

• Be available for on call standby duty after hours and weekends as according to regularly posted schedule.

• Required to operate light duty vehicles and other equipment necessary in the performance of assigned duties.

• Participate in assigned training/certification to perform work of the contract.

• May be to work in remote and isolated sites.

• Ensure all assigned deliverables and other reports are completed accurately and on time.

• Visibly demonstrate Serco Values and work practices while completing duties.

• Other related duties relevant to this position as may be required.

• Comply with all regulations policies and procedures pertaining to the operations including occupational health and safety environmental drug and alcohol and quality.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION /CERTIFICATIONS:

• Valid NL Journeyperson certificate in HVAC/Refrigeration Technician is .

• Possession of a valid NL Class 5 drivers license is .

• Possession of or the ability to obtain an Ozone Depleting Substance Certificate.

• Ability to obtain and maintain an Enhanced Reliability security clearance is . May be to upgrade to Secret Level II (dependent upon customers security requirements).

• Possession of or the ability to obtain and maintain a Ramp Defensive Driving Course (DND/RDDC) certification to operate vehicles on the airfield is .
• Ability to obtain drivers abstract.
