Position Summary
Under the general direction of the Director of Grounds and Custodial Services the Custodial Manager is responsible
for overseeing and managing the daily custodial operations including planning coordinating and ensuring the effective
delivery of cleaning services. This role requires independent scheduling assignment inspection and evaluation of
custodial work to maintain clean and wellkept facilities. The role serves as the primary point of contact for the
custodial department during daytime operations and is responsible for addressing operational needs making necessary
adjustments and ensuring custodial standards are met.
FLSA:Exempt (Not eligible for overtime compensation)
Anticipated Hiring Range:$5644 per month $5926 per monthcommensurate with the candidates education experience skills and training.
CSU Classification Salary Range:$4135 per month $12288per month

Custodial Services is responsible for cleaning activities in all generalfund supported university facilities. This professional staff maintains a safe and healthy setting for students faculty staff and guests in pursuit of our education mission. Typical services include:

1. Bachelors Degree from an accredited fouryear college or university or equivalent work experience.
2. Thorough knowledge of custodial equipment and the ability to teach and train a large diverse staff on the
proper and safe use of associated equipment.
3. Must have thorough knowledge of modern custodial cleaning methodologies/operations and the ability to
teach and train a large diverse work force.
4. Must possess a valid California Drivers License a safe driving record and must possess the ability to follow
all campus driving ordinances.
5. Must have working knowledge of desktop PC software applications such as word processing spreadsheets and
email and thorough knowledge of the maintenance management system (AiM) which includes work order
creation closing and current schedule monitoring.
6. Must be able to communicate and follow instructions to include instructions on daily calendars space
reservations forms communication logs IIPP Safety information work orders product labels MSD sheets
schedules and job descriptions.
7. Must be able to work collaboratively with a diverse campus community of students faculty and staff.
8. Must be able to communicate effectively using all available technology.
9. Must be able to remain calm and poised even during stressful situations.
10. Must possess excellent customer service skills.
