JOB SUMMARY
Eastside Catholic is seeking a Choir Teacher for grades six through twelve for the 202526 school year. Reporting to the Middle and High School Principals the Choir Teacher will be a key member of our Performing Arts Department.
Specific Responsibilities
Teach middle school and high school choral music courses including zero period 77:45 a.m. on Monday Tuesday Wednesday and Friday)
Foster students interest and aptitude for expressing themselves creatively in music
Help students develop aesthetic understanding and appreciation for a wide variety of styles of music
Discover and develop the talent gifts and work of students in the field of choral music
Create organize and manage performance events throughout the school year
Communicate clearly and in a timely manner with parents and guardians
Work with various departments including Student Life and Campus Ministry to prepare and organize liturgical music for Mass and performances for assemblies
Assume the role and responsibilities of Vocal Music Director for the Spring musical including planning afterschool rehearsals and performances.
Participate in all faculty department and committee meetings as required

A commitment to working with both middle and high school students
Continue to build the choir program by inspiring current students to remain engaged and encourage others to join each year
A passion for choral education and the skills required to guide students in developing a conceptual understanding of choral music
Experience with differentiated music education instruction in mixedskill classrooms
An intrigue for continued learning within the choral music field
Effectively create positive relationships with students families and colleagues by being present throughout the schoolhouse.
Strong interpersonal collaborative and organizational skills
Experience in aligning classroom instruction with state and national standards and standardsbased assessment
Keyboard skills and vocal pedagogy skills
A commitment to practices that promote equity inclusion and belonging
Education and experience
- Bachelors degree or higher in education or vocal performance
- Proven experience in teaching music at the middle and high school levels
- Experience teaching and coordinating liturgical music
- A teaching certificate is preferred
- Accompaniment experience
