The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Northern Region Highways and Aviation is looking for an Equipment Operator Lead Journey 3 to help us
Keep Alaska Moving!
What you will be doing:
In this role you will perform a wide range of maintenance tasks at a State maintenance station including a Category III FAA Part 139 certificated airport. Your responsibilities will include maintaining State highways airports seaplane bases bridges culverts and guardrails ensuring they are safe and fully operable for public use. You will conduct airport and highway maintenance such as snow and ice control pavement repair sign installation and repair drainage maintenance and equipment upkeep. You will also operate heavy equipment like dump trucks graders plows and loaders. Additionally you will perform Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) duties including standby certification and training while maintaining ARFF equipment. You will carry out runway inspections wildlife management tasks and ensure compliance with FAA regulations and airport security protocols. Finally you will complete necessary documentation including daily work reports vehicle inspections and safety logs.
