Job Description

EMPLOYMENT TERMS: Temporary as needed position


PRIMARY DUTY: TheHorace Mann Laboratory School & the Leet Center at Northwest Missouri State University is seeking candidates to create a pool of applicants who can teach as a substitute teacher within the following disciplines: Infant Toddlers Preschool Transitional Kindergarten K6 Elementary Education Music Education Art Education or Physical Education. The Substitute Teacher will work under the direction of the Director to support children in a collaborative projectbased environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Lead and supervise the instruction of infants toddler or elementary students
  2. Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Associates degree or bachelors degree from an accredited University/College/Technical School
Certification/License: Missouri Substitute Certificate
Experience: Previous experience working with children; nurturing; dedicated work ethic; flexible; cooperative; enthusiastic; dependable; social dispositions; model professional attitude and demeanor
Other: Successful completion of a background check and must be at least 18 years old

WORKING CONDITIONS:Collaborative teambased academic environment in a universitybased laboratory school


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Supervision of Preschool through sixthgrade students

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to complete essential classroom/administrative functions; ability to lift up to 20 pounds
