Summary of Job Duties:
The Marketing Writer reports to the Chief Communications and Marketing Officer and is a key member of the communications and marketing team. This position is responsible for creating compelling clear and persuasive content across multiple channels including email marketing print materials and narrativedriven storytelling pieces. The Marketing Writer helps drive engagement and strengthens brand identity through creative and impactful writing.
Qualifications:
Required Education and/or Experience
Bachelors degree in English Journalism Communications Marketing or a related field;
Up to one year of professional or relevant internship experience writing clear compelling and persuasive copy for various mediums (e.g. print web social media or advertising).
Preferred Education and/or Experience
One year of experience using email marketing platforms (e.g. Mailchimp Constant Contact) and digital marketing tools (e.g. Google Analytics CMS or social scheduling platforms);
One year of experience conducting interviews and developing stories or content from source material;
At least one year of experience working in a deadlinedriven environment;
Experience working in higher education or a missiondriven organization is a plus;
Demonstrated ability to adapt voice and style across multiple content types;
Experience contributing to projects as part of a collaborative crossfunctional team.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Excellent writing editing and storytelling skills;
Strong attention to detail;
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fastpaced environment;
Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
Familiarity with branding and content strategy principles.
