Grimwade Centre Administrative Support Officer

About the Role
The Administrative Support Officer provides essential support to the Grimwade Centre for Materials Conservation (GCCMC) within the School of Historical and Philosophical Studies. Reporting to the Discipline Chair the role facilitates teaching research and engagement activities including administrative assistance for Masters and PhD programs. Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders the position ensures cohesive operations aligned with the Centres strategic goals.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Support the goals of the Grimwade Centre in the area of administrative support (finance and HR) engagement and teaching as aligned to the centre strategy.
  • Support the development of the centres research profile especially through support for research grant applications and grant administration.
  • Manage the daytoday requirements of both the teaching and research laboratories in the Grimwade Centre.
  • Assist with the health and safety management systems at the Grimwade Centre such as Risk Assessment and Standard Operating Procedure documentation in conjunction with the Laboratory Coordinator.
  • Assist with work integrated learning such as student internship placements volunteering student experience initiatives and liaison with stakeholders and host organizations.

Who We Are Looking For
You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills strong interpersonal abilities and a proven capacity to work effectively in a team and with stakeholders. Additionally you will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills including time management and budgeting and possess proficiency in standard software applications with the ability to quickly learn new systems.

You will also have:

  • A relevant degree with a subsequent experience in a professional environment
  • Demonstrated ability to assist in the development of research projects and funding applications across the University philanthropic and government categories.
  • Experience in working on engagement activities associated with research and teaching outcomes and the ability to support staff across the Grimwade Centre in such initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to organise and procure materials for research and teaching programs
