A. POSITION PURPOSE
Reporting to the Director of Ignatian Formation and the Bannan Forums the Resident Scholar will conduct research writing speaking and programming to promote engagement and formation in the Ignatian charism and spirituality. The Resident Fellow will collaborate with members of the Ignatian Formation team as well as other key campus partners to help achieve the strategic priorities of the team and the Division of Mission and Ministry.
This is a fullyear fixed term .40 FTE non benefitseligible position that ends on June 30 2025. The specific times and days will be negotiated with the supervisor.
B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supports the integration of Catholic Social Teaching and the broader Jesuit Catholic mission into various aspects of the University culture
Assist with the implementation of programs for mission formation and engagement
Manage administrative processes in service to the Divisions priorities
Collaborate with broader work of Mission and Ministry
A. Supports the integration of Catholic Social Teaching and the broader Jesuit Catholic mission into various aspects of the University culture
Serves as a thought partner to the Vice President the Ignatian Formation team and other key campus partners
Researches missionrelated topics and directs the integration of research into the university
Facilitates discussions group conversations and programs that seek to integrate Catholic Social Teaching into the University
Develops and presents content to various University audiences on topics of Catholic Social Teaching and the Ignatian Tradition
B. Assist with the implementation of programs for mission formation and engagement
Serves as a support and thought partner to the VP of Mission and Ministry Ignatian Formation Team and the Division Program Leaders as needed for formation opportunities for key audiences
Develops and reviews formation materials for groups under the direction of the Director for Ignatian Formation
Supports planning and of spirituality and missionrelated programs including: Search for What Matters silent retreats Weekly Examen and other Ignatianbased formation events
Is available to offer spiritual direction and retreats on the Spiritual Exercises in coordination with other Ignatian Spirituality programming in the Ignatian Formation group
Supports the followup and assessment efforts for these programs
C. Manage administrative processes in service to the Divisions priorities.
i. Supports Division planning efforts
ii. Supports budget reporting in given programmatic areas
iii. Supports assessment efforts
D. Collaborating with broader work of Mission and Ministry.
i. Provides relevant support to other Division programs
ii. Carries out other duties in support of the work of the Division
Does not provide work direction.
Identifies and determines cause of problems; develops and presents recommendations for improvement of established processes and practices
Maintains contact with customers and solicits feedback for improved service
Maximizes productivity through use of appropriate tools; planned training and performance initiatives
Researches and develops resources that create timely and efficient workflow
Prepares progress reports; informs supervisor of project status; and deviation from goals. Ensures completeness accuracy and timeliness of all operational function
Prepares and submits reports as requested and required

Advanced knowledge of and familiarity with Jesuit Catholic mission and values
Advanced knowledge of Catholic Social Teaching
Knowledge of and familiarity/experience with domestic and international student immersion experiences
Demonstrated experience in giving the Spiritual Exercises in a religiously diverse environment strongly preferred.
Demonstrated leadership in communicating effectively the intellectual and spiritual dimension of the mission of Jesuit higher education to a diverse range of audiences.
Demonstrated outstanding organizational and project management skills and data management acuity required
Excellent communication skills
Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office Excel PowerPoint GoogleDocs required
Ability to represent the Ignatian Spirituality and Mission Formation programs and the Division of Mission and Ministry more generally in a range of internal and external settings.
Ability to meet deadlines work autonomously and in a team environment
Ability to think strategically while balancing attention to detail and handling competing demands
Ability to take initiative and anticipate needs
Ability to maintain confidentiality and to communicate with a high level of sensitivity and tact
Demonstrated ability to cultivate collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Bachelors degree required; Masters or doctoral degree preferred
Three years working in Jesuit higher education preferred
